Minerai de fer Québec (MFQ) is a Quebec-based company specializing in the extraction, processing, and marketing of high-quality iron ore. Located in the heart of the natural resource-rich region of Fermont, MFQ plays a strategic role in the Canadian and international mining industry.
The mandate was to design a counterweight lifting beam that would enable the safe dismantling of piping located above temporary walkways in the crushing building. The equipment had to be compatible with the two existing 25- and 50-tons overhead cranes.
Mandate
The deliverables provided by LDV include:
Preliminary and detailed design of the counterweight lifting beam;
Complete 3D modeling of equipment;
Coordination with the customer to validate the loads to be lifted and the operating environment;
Delivery of workshop plans for manufacturing;
Customized solution adapted to limited height, facilitating lifting operations and increasing maneuvering safety.
