The requirements
Minerai de fer Québec (MFQ) is a Quebec-based company specializing in the extraction, processing, and marketing of high-quality iron ore. Located in the heart of the natural resource-rich region of Fermont, MFQ plays a strategic role in the Canadian and international mining industry.
LDV Consultants was commissioned to conduct a feasibility study followed by detailed engineering for the installation of a lifting system (overhead crane type) at the outlet of the crawler feeder, attached to the existing chute structure. The drive shaft to be handled weighs 18,000 lb.
Mandate
The deliverables provided by LDV include:
Detailed dimensioning of support structure and beams;
Sizing of attachment tools for the drive shaft;
3D modeling of components (existing and new);
Drawing for the manufacture of components and installation of lifting beams.
